Activating the deduplication license

Deduplication is an optional feature of Data ONTAP. You can activate the deduplication license after installing Data ONTAP.

Considerations

The deduplication license is supported by the R200 storage system, and by FAS systems that support the NearStore personality license. On FAS systems, the NearStore personality license must be installed before installing the deduplication license.

Step

Enter the following command:license add xxxxxxx
xxxxxxx is the code for the deduplication license.
