Deduplication is an optional feature of Data ONTAP that eliminates duplicate data blocks to reduce the amount of storage space used to store data.
You can use deduplication only with FlexVol volumes. You can run deduplication operations on a schedule, or start a deduplication operation using commands.
To use deduplication, you need to install the appropriate license.
