Adding back the tertiary storage system SnapMirror backup

Depending on the kind of backup interrupt you encountered, the old secondary storage system might be usable again as the tertiary storage system or you might need to assign a new system.

Considerations

After adding the tertiary system, systemA has a SnapVault backup to systemC and systemC has a SnapMirror backup to system B (or systemD if systemB cannot be reused).

To add the old storage system as the tertiary, complete the following steps.

Steps

  1. Resynchronize the SnapMirror relationship between the new secondary storage system, systemC, and the new tertiary storage system, systemB.

    Example

    snapmirror resync -S systemC:vol3 systemB:vol2

  2. Release resources that are locked for the old secondary storage system to tertiary storage system SnapMirror relationship.

    Example

Perform the following step from systemB. snapmirror release vol2 systemC:vol3
