You can use SnapMirror to replicate both tranditional and FlexVol volumes. However, there are certain configurations that are not supported for replication.

Note: Volume
SnapMirror does not support replication between different volume types.
In an exceptional case, synchronous or semi-synchronous SnapMirror
replication between two volumes
is not supported. An active/active configuration cannot have a synchronous or semi-synchronous SnapMirror relationship from one node of the configuration to the other node of the configuration.
