Title:Multi-Agent System (MAS) Abstract: A multi-agent system (MAS) is a collection of agents that interact with each other. Coordination is one of the major issues in MAS research. It plays a central role in multi-agent systems to ensure proper interactions amongst agents. Today, the remarkable growth of MAS applications brings higher requirements and more challenges to agent coordination research. Many complex applications require MAS to include various agents to work together under an open and dynamic environment. Toward some challenges in current agent coordination research, in my research, I investigated agent coordination problems in self-interested MASs and proposed three coordination mechanisms based on three different methodologies: (1) Coloured Petri Net based mechanisms to coordinate agent interactions and negotiations, (2) a flexible team formation mechanism for self-interested agents, and (3) a knowledge level mechanism for knowledge sharing and management in MASs. In this talk, I will present the core results from my studies.
