Messages

(Last updated: 24 April 2000)

This web site will be used throughout the semester to issue assignments and communicate any important messages about the subject. Messages posted here will be assumed to have been communicated to all students. For example, if there is a change to one of the lab assignments the details will be posted here. You should therefore get into the habit of checking the messages regularly to see if there are any new messages.

Lecture Notes

Most slides and reference material used in the lectures is available via this link. As the slides do not necessarily include all of the examples and explanations given in lectures, therefore attendance at lectures is necessary. You can greatly reduce the amount of note taking by printing the latest slides prior to the lectures and annotating as necessary.

Assignments

Lab assignments, example code and solutions to completed assignment will be available via this link on a week by week basis.

Results

Results are updated weekly as assignments are marked. You can monitor your progress by viewing the assignment results available on this link. If you find one (or more) of your assignment marks is incorrectly recorded (or missing) let me know via email or at the next lecture so appropriate corrections can be made.

Email

Any email messages sent to me will usually be read and replied to within 24 hrs. However, sometimes email messages can become lost or inadvertently overlooked. If you send an email massage to me and do not receive any response within a day or two feel free to send your email message again or make a note of seeing me during lectures to discuss any concerns. Occasionally, group email will be sent to all students on important messages. For example, an assignment specification may be changed due to an error in the specs, or an extension of time may be issued for a assignment students find particularly difficult. These messages will also be posted in the messages link above so regularly checking your email or the messages above is recommended.
