Firewall Simulation

Assume you are a network administrator in charge of configuring your firewall to protect the firewall.edu network. A network diagram gives the computer names and IP addresses. You can configure the firewall using Cisco-like configuration commands. After an initial configuration period, you will be allowed to take actions against the networks of other simulation participants who will also be able to take actions against your network. Some of the actions are benign, such as reading the home page of your public website. If your firewall prohibits such an action that should be allowed, you will lose a point while the other participant will earn a point. If another player launches a malicious action against your network which is not blocked by your firewall, they will earn a point and you will lose one. If a benign action succeeds or a malicious action is blocked, there is not change in the score. Your goal is to maximize your score by defending your network while attacking others. Occasionally new tasks will be announced that may require you to reconfigure your firewall.

Instructions on how to configure the firewall are available here.
