Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation combined with the Bachelor of Creative Arts is an exciting and unique double degree combination. Students will philosophically reflect on questions about art, literature, science and religion while also investigating such topics as the nature of selfhood, truth, reason and wisdom. Students will discover how great ideas and art can shape us - our understanding of ourselves and the world - and how ideas can make a difference for good or ill. By studying the double degree your studies will be enhanced while learning the theory and history behind contemporary creative arts.

To qualify for award of the degree, the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation – Bachelor of Creative Arts, a candidate must successfully complete at least 240 credit points, comprised of:
1. Core subjects for the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation (96 credit points);
2. One major study for the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation (48 credit points);
3. Core subjects for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (24 credit points);
4. One major study of 72 credit points for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (72 credit points).

Major Study
Students studying this degree will complete two majors, one 48 credit point major chosen from the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation, and one 72 credit point major chosen from the Bachelor of Creative Arts. Students completing this double degree cannot choose the 96 credit point Creative Arts Major. Students cannot complete a Creative Arts Major in both degrees.
Honours
Honours is a fourth year of study that provides training in independent research. Students who complete the double degree with the required academic standard are encouraged to proceed to either the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation (Honours) or the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours). Please refer to the Honours handbook pages for further information about these degrees.
Other Information
