Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Education is available to applicants who are enrolled through the Federal Government Scheme in the short and focused online course program. This initiative is introduced only for 6 months from May 2020. The short courses will run from July 2020 to December 2020. This initiative provides upskilling opportunities to those who are unemployed as well as pathways into a number of degree programs. Applicants should follow the course structure and rules that are specifically designed for this cohort. Check the course structure and course rules below before enrolling in subjects.

The Graduate Certificate in Education is designed for educators seeking a short, flexible degree that can be tailored to their needs and interests. The program suits graduates and professionals who are looking to diversify or change their career direction. The program will also be of interest to graduates seeking a broad base in education and training to underpin career goals in generalist education roles in fields such as staff training and development, or policy and planning. In the 2020 Good Universities Guide, UOW Teacher Education ranked number 1 in Australia for learning resources, and number 1 in NSW for overall quality of educational experience and student support. UOW also received 5-star ratings for learner engagement, skills development, and teaching quality in the study area of Teacher Education.
