Overview

This course is one of a number of online short courses available to students between July and December 2020 to support school leavers and workers looking to up-skill or future-proof their careers. 

Each course comprises four subjects that impart new skills and knowledge that can be applied to existing or future job roles, or as a basis for further study towards a UOW undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

In the Undergraduate Certificate in Educational Studies you will study four subjects including ‘Education and Society’ and ‘Science Content Knowledge for Educators’. After successfully completing the Higher Education Certificate you can transfer with credit into UOW’s Bachelor of Primary Education degree and start on your pathway to becoming an exceptional teacher. In the 2020 Good Universities Guide, UOW Teacher Education ranked number 1 in Australia for learning resources, and number 1 in NSW for overall quality of educational experience and student support. UOW also received 5-star ratings for learner engagement, skills development, and teaching quality in the study area of Teacher Education.
