Overview
This course is one of a number of online short courses available to students between July and December 2020 to support school leavers and workers looking to up-skill or future-proof their careers. Each course comprises four subjects that impart new skills and knowledge that can be applied to existing or future job roles, or as a basis for further study towards a UOW undergraduate or postgraduate degree. This course is aligned to the Bachelor of Arts (792) and the Bachelor of Communication and Media (1706) and you will receive full credit towards either degree on completion of this course.
Develop your communication and media career and learn the skills which can lead to occupation in areas such as digital and social media, graphic design, filmmaking, journalism, and marketing communication and advertising. In the Undergraduate Certificate in Communication and Cultures you will study four subjects including ‘Business Communications’ and ‘Global Culture and Media’. The federal government’s 2020 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) ranked UOW first in NSW/ACT for Communications and in the 2020 Good Universities Guide, UOW ranked number 1 university in NSW for skills development in the study area of Communications.
