Overview 

This course is one of a number of online short courses available to students between July and December 2020 to support school leavers and workers looking to up-skill or future-proof their careers.  Each course comprises four subjects that impart new skills and knowledge that can be applied to existing or future job roles, or as a basis for further study towards a UOW undergraduate or postgraduate degree. This course is aligned to the Bachelor of Arts and you will receive full credit towards that degree on completion of this course.

Learn the key skills which underpin a variety of professional careers including Journalism, Publicity, Copywriting, Marketing, Editing and Publishing. In the Undergraduate Certificate in Critical Reading and Writing Skills you will study four subjects including ‘Introduction to Creative Writing’ and ‘Effective Written Communication’. The federal government’s 2020 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) ranked UOW number one in Australia for Creative Arts and in the 2020 Good Universities Guide, UOW received a five-star rating for learning resources in the study area of Humanities, Culture and Social Sciences.
