Overview
This course is one of a number of online short courses available to students between July and December 2020 to support school leavers and workers looking to up-skill or future-proof their careers.
Each course comprises four subjects that impart new skills and knowledge that can be applied to existing or future job roles, or as a basis for further study towards a UOW undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
Build your IT skills with an Undergraduate Certificate in Information Technology (IT) and gain a guaranteed pathway with full credit (subject to a 50% pass mark in all subjects) into the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT), Bachelor of Business Information Systems, or Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Wollongong (UOW). You can choose from a number of specialisations including: artificial intelligence, cyber security, digital systems security, big data, game and mobile development, software engineering, e-business, web design and development, and network design and management. Australia will need an extra 100,000 ICT workers by 2024. Every industry, from creative to finance, to healthcare, agriculture and transport is changing and will need ICT talent to thrive. In the 2020 Good Universities Guide, UOW ranked first in NSW for graduates in full-time employment (85%) in the Computer and Information Systems study area.
