Overview

The new global economy of the twenty-first century has transformed every business into international business. The Master of International Business is designed to develop and broaden the capabilities and resources of business managers in the global business environment. It provides the opportunity to acquire contemporary knowledge, skills, and right attitudes and values demanded by modern international business organizations.

The course comprises of twelve subjects: four foundation subjects at 800 level ( ACCY801, MGNT803, MARK802, OPS 802 ), five core subjects at 900 level ( MGNT942, MGNT978, MARK957, FIN 921, MGNT984 ), two 900 level elective subjects and MGNT922 Business Research Capstone. International students may also select GWP 900 International Workplace Practice as an elective subject option. This degree is available on a full-time or part-time basis at the Wollongong and Sydney campuses. In addition to business and commerce streams’ candidates, this program has also been a popular option for those who have an undergraduate degree in a non-business area. It is an academically-rigorous, professionally-oriented, and rather flexible masters’ degree program in international business.

We were the first in Australian Universities to offer this unique degree. Students successfully completing this degree can achieve credit towards a second Master degree, to take their study period up to 2 years full time (18 subjects, total of 108 credit points). Students may select a second Master from any of the business specialist Masters degrees offered by the Faculty of Business and Law.
