Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Occupational Hygiene has been developed in conjunction with industry to address the complex nature of occupational hygiene in the workplace. It provides a professional introductory program of study and a pathway for the higher level Master of Occupational Hygiene. The specialised knowledge and skills developed throughout the course allows students to confidently address the complex nature of workplace occupational hygiene issues. The program has a flexible mode of delivery, with online content delivered up front, complemented by block teaching sessions of 3–5 days for exploration and application of subject material.

Course Learning Outcomes

Course Learning Outcomes are statements of learning achievement that are expressed in terms of what the learner is expected to know, understand and be able to do upon completion of a course. Students graduating from this course will be able to:

5 Develop and apply appropriate professional and ethical approaches to occupational hygiene practice.
6 Identify, critically review, evaluate and apply technologies for OHS professional practice in order to function effectively in a digital environment.

Accreditation and Professional Recognition

The Graduate Certificate is not eligible for professional accreditation because of the limited scope of study. If, however, a student enrols in the Master of Occupational Hygiene, all subjects can be used as academic credit. Please refer to the Master of Occupational Hygiene for professional recognition and accreditation at that level.
