Overview
Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Trauma and Recovery Practice will respond to issues that have particular relevance in Indigenous communities in Australia and globally. It will provide specific skills and competencies so that graduates can work from a trauma informed care and practice approach. It is a multi-disciplinary program that aims to increase skills including being able to apply critical thinking, collaborative practices and judgement when working individually and within communities across service provision with children, families and communities experiencing trauma. Most importantly the course will focus on applying Global Mental Health principles and practices in work on mental health; suicide and self-harm; family and community violence; alcohol and other substance misuse and child safety issues from a trauma informed care and practice approach to wellbeing.
