Overview
This coursework degree is designed for candidates who wish to extend their grounding in a particular science discipline beyond the undergraduate level. It also provides an alternative route to subsequent PhD studies for high performing students who do not possess a Bachelor of Science Honours degree. Students who graduate from this degree would be expected to obtain jobs in relevant industries, research institutes and government departments in both Australia and overseas.

Course Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from the Master of Science will be able to:
- Describe and synthesize knowledge about recent developments in an area of Science.
- Exercise critical thinking and reflection.
- Apply research principles and methods pertinent to a Science discipline.
- Justify, interpret and communicate methodologies and conclusions.
- Investigate, analyse and synthesise information, problems, concepts and theories.
- Generate, apply and evaluate methodologies, hypotheses and theories.
- Demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills in planning and executing a substantial research-based initiative.
