Interdisciplinary Studies | 2017

Overview

The Master of Education (Interdisciplinary Studies) is specifically designed for educators who are seeking flexible studies across multiple areas of education.

Through the study of educational psychology, leadership and technology, students gain foundational knowledge and skills for quality teaching, coaching or training in a range of contexts. Students can tailor their studies to gain further knowledge, skills and capabilities in one specific area, or in multiple areas for a broader contextual basis for learning.

Course Structure

The MEd (Interdisciplinary Studies) requires the completion of:

  1. 72 credit points of study comprising:
    1. 5 core subjects (30cp).  EDGZ921 must be completed within the first 36 credit points and EDGZ906 be completed in the final session of the degree; and
    2. 7 elective subjects (42cp) selected from any Master of Education specialisation
  2. No more than 4 subjects (24cp) will be at 800 level.

EDGL901 Foundations of Educational Leadership 6 Autumn
EDGZ906 Minor Research Project in Education 6 Autumn, Spring
Plus seven elective subjects chosen from any Master of Education specialisation  (42cp).  The following is a recommended elective:
EDGZ966 Vygotskian Studies in Education 6Spring

Please note: Elective subjects may be cancelled if minimum enrolment numbers are not met.
