course description

The Master of Science (Dementia Care) is a clinically based program that prepares practitioners for advanced professional practice in the specialist field of dementia.

Graduates will have the ability to critically review the health and well-being of people with dementia; review social policy and its impact on the provision of dementia care; and develop advocacy skills in sectors relevant to dementia care.

The program involves four core subjects from the Graduate Certificate in Dementia Care, a further two core subjects - Reflective Practice 2 and Innovations in Practice Development - plus two health related subjects to be approved by the Course Co-ordinator.

Three of the core subjects are available via flexible delivery, ie web-based self learning plus 2-3 days on campus; other subjects are available by distance and flexible delivery, dependent upon the subjects chosen.
