Bachelor of Science (Geology)

Geology is the study of the earth, the materials of which it is made, the processes that act on these materials, the products formed and the history of the planet and its life forms. Areas of specialised study include economic geology (minerals, metals, coal, petroleum, uranium); geophysics; palaeontology; sedimentology; structural geology; stratigraphy; tectonics; vulcanology and geochemistry.

Students interested in a career in Geology are urged to take more than the minimum required 24 credit points of 300-level EESC subjects. A graduate with 32 credit points of 300-level EESC subjects has a more comprehensive geology degree.
