*Please note this course is scheduled to be discontinued at the end of Autumn 2009. Students currently enrolled in this degree as at March 31st 2009 will be permitted to complete the degree, provided they maintain continuous enrolment. New students will not be permitted to commence after 31st March 2009. Students returning to study after withdrawing from this degree or transferring out of it will be considered new students and will not be permitted to resume study in the Master of Nutrition Management.
Overview
The Master of Nutrition Management allows students to critically examine key issues relating to food product development in Australia today, and apply new knowledge and skills to developments within their own work environments.
Entry Requirements / Assumed Knowledge
Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian university or institution of equivalent standing, with a grade average of at least 60%; or, applicants must possess an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian university or institution of equivalent standing, with a grade average between 50% and 59% and must also have completed a minimum of two years full-time relevant work experience (managerial or supervisory in nature and/or which carries a level of responsibility) after graduation.
In special circumstances, applicants who hold other academic or professional qualifications and have a minimum of five years full-time or ten years part-time relevant work experience, may also be granted admission to the program.
International students are required to have achieved an IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum level of 6.0 in reading writing, speaking and listening.

The Master of Nutrition Management comprises 4 nutrition and 4 management subjects totalling 48 credit points, over four sessions part-time.

Credit Towards Other Courses
Students may apply to undertake another session of work including a project to receive a Master of Science (Nutrition Management) or undertake the remaining requirements of a Master of Business Administration program to achieve this as an additional qualification. Students need to meet the required two years work experience for the Master of Business Administration program, or the academic requirements for entry into the Major Project. Entry to the Major Project also requires the availability of a suitable supervisor and an available project.
Students in this program should be aware that there is no direct transfer option into other Nutrition Masters programs (including Nutrition, Nutrition & Dietetics). Students may apply to enter these other programs via the usual application process, which is generally a competitive process.
Students who wish to later apply for entry into the Master of Science (Nutrition or Nutrition & Dietetics) must ensure that they have the required pre-requisites, including 12 credit points of human physiology and 12 credit points of biochemistry.
