Accreditation

The University of Wollongong offers students the opportunity to study courses and majors that enjoy external accreditation status.

Accreditation status is, in several professional contexts, a prerequisite for students, upon graduation, to seek entry into professional practice. Examples of this include our degrees in nursing, teacher education, engineering, medicine, psychology, and law. In other contexts, accreditation may provide additional professional options, such as access to professional programs, or rights of membership to relevant professional bodies.

Broader accreditation regimes are designed to enhance our reputation and represent a broader mark of quality. Accreditation processes are valuable elements of the quality assurance regimes of the University.

Accreditation, as a quality assurance process undergoes rigorous evaluation of courses and subjects against certain standards. Course accreditation processes are typically cyclical. The University internal course review schedule, as far as practicable, will align with the schedule for External Accreditation of courses that are externally accredited.

This web page helps students identify courses that are accredited externally. The accreditation status may change between years and students are asked to contact the respective Faculties for more information.
