Overview
The Master of International Business program prepares students to succeed in various international business, managerial and professional positions in the global economy. The globalisation of the marketplace requires businesses to be increasingly innovative and competitive. Managers need to understand the complexities of global culture, political, economic, marketing, organisational and financial forces and recognise how they can impact on the success of their business.
This course examines the global business environment and develops the management skills and competencies that are necessary in order to effectively operate in a truly global business environment.
Course Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from the Master of International Business will be able to:
- Student will be able to contribute as a productive member of a management-level work team and the value and challenge of managing diversity.
- Student will demonstrate an understanding of the forces shaping the international economic environment in which businesses operate.
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of the nature of financial management and basic accounting principles.
- Students will show an understanding of the different types of management styles and the role of managers in organizations. Students become aware of cultural issues in the context of organizational management and their influence on leadership styles.
- Students will display a critical appreciation of the external forces that are shaping the international marketing manager’s job and determine how to organize international marketing operations for maximum effectiveness.
- Students will be able to demonstrate management skills by explaining and articulating practical solutions in functional areas such as trade and investment, marketing, human resources, finance and operations.
- To be able to effectively implement, manage and monitor projects.
